XXV International theoretical and practical conference “Role of science, religion and society in formation of a moral person”

Traditionally at the end of May the State University of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence opened hospitably its doors. From all corners of Ukraine and overseas there gathered here the representatives of the state administrations, religious faiths, higher educational institutions etc. Here there is already XXV International theoretical and practical conference “Role of science, religion and society in formation of a moral person” which is carried out under the aegis of the Donetsk state administration.

Conference began with the National anthem of Ukraine. Teachers, post-graduate students and students from the most prestigious Universities of Ukraine discussed interesting and important questions, there were the representatives from the National Juridical Academy of Yaroslav Mudry, Institute of Philosophy NAS of Ukraine named after G. Skovoroda, the National University of Water Industry and Nature Management, the Sumy State Pedagogical University, the Lugansk National University named after T. Shevchenko, the Poltava State Pedagogical University named after V. Korolenko, the Chernovitsky National University named after Yu. Fedkovich, the Kharkov National Agrarian University named after V. Dokuchayev, the National Medical University named after A. Bogomolets, the Kirovograd Juridical Institute of the Kharkov National University of Interior, the Prikarpatsky National University named after V. Stefanik, the Catholic University of Lublin (Poland), etc. Some prestigious high schools represented Zaporozhie, Donetsk and Donetsk Region.

Pro-rector concerning scientific and pedagogical work, associate professor, Cand. Sc. (Biology) Irina Vladimirovna Kachur opened the conference. “XXV conference testifies the large interest to researches which are carried out at the State University of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, − said she, and also underlined, that Donetchina is a centre of religious researches.

Post-graduate student SUIAI, a mufti of the Spiritual Ukrainian Muslim organization “UMMA” Ismagilov Said joined I.V. Kachur's congratulations. He presented the interesting books about Mohammed to the University, he noticed, that school of religious studies SUIAI and researches which are carried out at this educational institution are the best in Ukraine.

Archimandrite Tikhon congratulated the University with the beginning of the conference from representatives of religious faiths; he wished God’s help and successes in their work.

Performances of teachers’ SUIAI were interesting. So, the report of the dean of the faculty of philosophy and religious studies SUIAI, head of philosophy department SUIAI, Dr. Sc., (Philosophy), associate professor Alexander Vladimirovich Belokobylsky “Cultural value of imperatives of religious rationality” took the big interest. And the report of head of the religious studies department SUIAI, Dr. Sc. (Philosophy), Cand. Sc. (Theology) E.K. Duluman earned a lot of cheering and applause. Cand. Sc. (Philosophy), professor of the philosophy department of the Donetsk branch CGO NAN of Ukraine, the associate professor of the philosophy department SUIAI Igor Trofimovich Pasko informed about social progress and specificity of the Russian mentality.

Guests from other high schools of Donetsk, professor of the philosophy department DonNU Dr. Sc. (Philosophy) N. M. Yemelianova and head of the Ukrainian languages and literature department of the DNUET named after M. Tugan-Baranovsky K.M. Uzbek, they took part in a plenary session of the conference and spoke about important questions of today.

XXV International theoretical and practical conference “Role of science, religion and society in formation of a moral person” was carried out in five sections and circular table.

Circular table is one of elements of the conference; it was introduced into practice several years ago as the most important conversation form of scientists on a high level. This time it was discussed religion role in formation of the social purposes and values. Students and post-graduate students, who are interested in such sciences as philosophy and religious studies listened with enthusiasm to performances of their teachers and asked the important questions. Among the known philosophers and theologians were V. Belokobylsky Dr. Sc. (Philosophy), associate professor, E.K. Duluman Dr. Sc. (Philosophy), Cand. Sc. (Theology), I.G. Lukovenko Cand. Sc. (History), assistant professor of the religious studies department, I.A. Kozlovsky associate professor, chief of the religious researches and the international spiritual relations centre of the SUIAI, N.M. Yemelianova professor of the philosophy department of the DonNU, Dr. Sc. (Philosophy), S.A. Titarenko Dr. Sc. (Philosophy), professor of the philosophy department of the Lugansk National Agrarian University and others.

Work of the circular table was carried out in very warm, tolerant conditions. Its participants made very interesting conclusions. In particular, Igor Anatolievich noticed, that we should constantly be in a status of interreligious dialogue. “There are future problems before us”, − said he. Professor N.M. Yemelianova paid attention to the questions of the God existence, belief and disbelief, it is a problem which is necessary to discuss. Discussion ended with E.K. Duluman's performance who cited the world famous philosopher of XIX century A. Schopenhauer: “world has not a sense, we search for sense here”.
